This is one of the saddest and most beautiful love stories I’ve ever seen.  It’s so low-keyed and subdued and so utterly believable that you forget it’s science fiction (I hope it is anyway).  With the most subtle and everyday conversations between young adults who know they are going to die soon because they’ve been cloned as organ donators we are asked deeply moving existential questions: Why do we live when we’re going to die anyway? And how do we make it meaningful if not through relationships and art?
Whether or not technology evolves to make the cloning of humans feasible the moral ambiguities raised by the movie are relevant. The movie is about clones but it is also about us.
10* stars of 10.
