L’Enfant d’en haut
- Director: Ursula Meier
- Based on the novel: no
- Cast: Léa Seydoux, Kacey Mottet Klein, Martin Compston, Gillian Anderson
- Personal “oh yeah him/her” reaction, i.e. have seen this actor in:
- Léa Spectre – Spectre, Robin Hood, Inglourious Basterds
- Martin Compston – Filth, Doomsday, Red Road, Sweet Sixteen
- Gillian Anderson – The Fall, The Last King of Scotland, Bleak House, Tristram Shandy, The X Files
- Why? Good reviews
- Seen: 25 January 2019
Simon (Klein) steals food, clothing, equipment and expensive skis in an Alpine ski resort. Some he sells to the local kids, some he brings home to his big sister who has just quit a job she hates.
And that’s about it. It should be interesting. Poor kid stealing from the rich. Workers behind the scenes of the jet set. But I’m just bored. The weird family drama doesn’t help much. Why several Swedish newspapers gave it lots of stars I don’t understand. Maybe it would be better if I watched it again, knowing what to expect.
This time, because the acting is very good, the mountains are spectacular, and I get to practice my French it gets
2 ½ * of 5 (Hal gave it 3 ½ * because it was different.)
