During the Second World War, France
recruited men from its North African colonies to defend and liberate France.
Some went willingly, others not.
They fight for liberté, egalité et fraternité but though they are expected to die with their French comrades, they are oppressed second-class citizens. It’s one of the better films about WWII and shows an aspect that I’m sure many of us haven’t seen.
